OBM: Hi guys, thanks for your time, how are you today?
I'm doing really good. We're just in the studio wrapping up lead guitars.
OBM: When you first formed "A Day To Remember", what did you want to achieve? What about now, are your goals still the same?
We were five kids who wanted to play music that we liked, and just have fun. We started playing shows, and over the span of 5 years things have culminated to what they are now. We still are five kids that want to play music and have fun doing it. When band's lose sight of why they started playing, that's when things start to go to shit.
OBM: So, you work at the moment on your new album '"Homesick"', what can your fans expect from it?
Everyone should expect more of the same but to a much greater extreme. It's so much heavier and so much catchier. This record is the best thing any of us have been a part of, and we couldn't be more stoked for kids to get ahold of it!
OBM: Do you think this record will surprise people who have this preconceived image of you?
For sure. Like I said. It's more of the same, but so much better. Even if people think they know what's up, they will all be blown away when they hear
this record.
OBM: What is the idea behind the album titel "Homesick", has he a special meaning for you?
We called the record Homesick because we've been on the road for the past few years non-stop. It's not us complaining and wishing we were home, it's just a record about how you learn to deal with being away from home, and how much the people there mean to you.
OBM: What inspired the new album lyrically this time?
Same kind of thing as above. Just missing the people you love.
OBM: Do you get a big release out of writing your songs?
For sure. It's our opportunity to express ourselves. Get things we're thinking about out to everyone. It's an awesome feeling.
OBM: You must have had a lot of amazing experiences
on the road, do they inspire you when you write your lyrics?
I play bass in the band, but I know what we experience on the road influences Jeremy. This record is about us being gone!
OBM: What were your goals for the new record?
We're just really excited to start touring on these songs. Whatever happens happens. We want it to blow up, but we're just excited to get out there to all of our fans again.
OBM: When will the album released?
February.
OBM: What about music in general? What got you into music?
I think we all got into music from our local Ocala, FL scene. A lot of different bands influenced us all and got us into the type of music we're playing. |
